Earth Day

Earth Day is opportunity, it is an opportunity to grow a community of individuals and groups who understand and value both our living world, but also our ability to preserve that world for generations to come. Established in 1970, the day has evolved into a celebration and a reminder that hope is supported by action.

Green Columbus supports Earth day in two main avenues. Recognizing there is no opportunity without action, our nonprofit organizes hundreds of worksites leading up to the 22nd of April. Litter clean ups, honeysuckle removal, or myriad other projects put boots on the ground of this climate effort. Look for opportunities to host your own worksite with friends, coworkers, or family.

Additionally, Green Columbus seeks to build community and celebrate the work of our amazing volunteers and partners. Each year, we host an Earth Day celebration. Local food trucks, businesses, artists, musical acts, and lots of activities for the kids, energize our community to stay involved and active in this effort. We look forward to seeing you in April!
