Tree Nurseries

Trees are an integral part of our climate future. While many are aware of the exchange of carbon dioxide to oxygen trees facilitate, some may not be aware of some of the other impacts our leafy friends have.

Neighborhoods with adequate tree cover have better air quality and control runoff from storms more effectively. The residents of a community with high tree density experience better health outcomes, lower crime, and reduced energy bills. Trees really do so much for us!

Green Columbus’ primary mission is to bring equitable tree coverage to our city. The recent Urban Forestry Master Plan has identified communities in central Ohio lacking adequate tree coverage. Green Columbus works with both the City of Columbus and other area non-profits to raise and distribute trees. We maintain two tree nurseries in the city and distribute trees each fall at no cost.
